The series retooled itself pretty effectivelyStrong disagree there. AJ came close to killing the series, and I don't think that's a hot take. There's a reason that after AJ, we immediately got: Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth Ace Attorney Investigations 2 Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright For 6 years of spinoffs and rereleases that desperately harkened back to the old characters and old Phoenix design. Then, after sufficient time had passed, Dual Destinies came out. It immediately put Phoenix back in the saddle and tried to pretend his hobo era never existed. There was never a payoff, just scrambling to right the ship after a disastrous misstep.
