63 . Leslie Kyle

Board 8 knows that Leslie Kyle first appeared in the prequel to Advent Children, succinctly titled Final Fantasy VII: The Kids are Alright: A Turks Side Story, where he and Kyrie were detectives. When it comes to these rankings, as I've said already, none of that matters. What we're dealing with here is an extremely small cameo near the end of Rebirth.

In Remake, I thought Leslie was one of the more interesting "new"characters. He's the doorman for Don Corneo's mansion in Remake, where he's searching for his girlfriend, who was a former Corneo "bride." He's very much on his Locke Cole shit: noble treasure hunter trying to save his GF. His search kind of continues in Rebirth; he becomes aware of Solemn Gus offering a young girl as a "prize" in the desert well battle arena. He fights, gets his ass handed to him, then asks us to fight in his stead. Altogether, a pretty forgettable quest, though it does slightly further his character arc.

62 . Tifa's Dad, aka Brian Lockhart

I wonder why some people in Nibelheim dress like cowboys and others dress like "regular" people. I guess Nibelheim is supposed to be like Texas? Except in the North? With mountains? Maybe Tifa, Brian and the Mayor just enjoyed wild west fashion together?

You might think that all Tifa's dad does is die and you aren't wrong. He's also a pretty concerned papa, and for this, I gotta give him credit since he's the only one in Nibelheim who seems remotely worried about the reactor stuff and wary of Shinra soldiers. Maybe he's just overprotective.

One of the interesting aspects of the Tifa/Aerith friendship is thinking about how they both lost their mothers at around the same time. Tifa and Aerith both were raised by widows, one male and the other female. Tifa is tough but also kind of passive, Aerith is outgoing and physically weak but more inwardly strong. I think the parents have a lot to do with this.

Hint for minigame 36: This left me feeling hot and cold.
