Most people are honestly going to think of movies when it comes to this stuff because the imagery is so iconic, and they are still Stephen King stories at the end of the day.

For me, it comes down to which in my mind is the definitive edition of the work. It's been a long time since I've read most of the books. And I've only seen some of the adaptations.

The Shining is easily the movie. IT is the book for me but that's a tough one more generally. The Stand...never seen any of the mini-series or whatever, so that's the book. 1408 the movie was awful so it's the story which was legit great and creepy. Misery is easily the movie. Carrie is the movie. Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me (The Body), c'mon. I'm not even going to entertain discussion on The Dark Tower.
