The serious stuff is more of a mixed bag, some stuff is great, sometimes it just doesn't land or have the same impact as it did in the original. Faster pacing in the original does keep you more on edge throughout the buildup of Disc 1. Rebirth, some stuff feels too drawn out or just takes too much time in general.
