What makes a cryptid a cryptid for me is the point of origin. Slender Man is a totally fictitious character from the start. Cryptids meanwhile have anecdotal sightings from multiple witnesses but they are hard to substantiate. That's what makes the difference for me. --- I've decided to put my fears behind me.
