Mia's death is an awesome, shocking hook for the series to start off with, and the series in general starts to find its groove here in terms of writing. I really like the development of Phoenix and Maya's relationship. But the murder mystery is deeply lame, Redd White is such a lame villain for the position he has, and the ending to the case sucks, not because Mia comes back (that seemed dumb at the time but no longer does) but because Redd White giving up because of a list of names is silly and feels unearned. ...
