He sold stock in Tesla to get funding for Twitter, in addition to getting debt loans from banks. Twitter itself, not even Elon Musk or Tesla, are on the hook for Twitter. Even in the event that he had a terrible loss from Tesla(almost no chance of that happening) he could still pay back what was owed in cash and other options to cover any potential shortfall. It's far more likely that the banks write off a bad loan to Twitter and eat their loses, moreso than Tesla losing that much worth.
