Yes but it's insurance against town not having the exact 1 scum

If you shotgun you're more likely to just hit scum by accident with the two bodies that weren't the #1 scum read and then they either have to die or squirm

I think the gain is VASTLY superior to the marginal pressure generated from suggesting two scum pair up Like I can't imagine that scum are ever scared enough by that to expose themselves. They'll subtly defeat the idea as they did this game (its easy as they have 5x the town pairs as scum pair options) or just pair up and try to win in final 5 anyway

Your way works better if town knows who 1 scum is with very high probability. If they don't though it basically never works.
