She made a poor judgement call, it's fine if you agree with what she did but it does not mean it was a good decision on her part. She's facing the consequences she is specifically because we as a society expect adults to know better

She made a good judgement in protecting her child. The morons running the system made a bad judgement in punishing her for it. We'd expect adults to understand that lemon, salt, and vinegar aren't poison. We'd also expect adults to understand that this would have been completely avoided if the asshole bully didn't steal the drink. For some reason you think it's smart to enforce a system where thieving bullies get sympathy and harmless passive resistance against a bully gets punished. Sit in a corner and reflect on what you're advocating for.
