And even then you'll have to wait until after midnight for things to advance I looked more into it, and I found this video about the trick and it actually does seem to work: https://youtu.be/SncihZQQZTs?si=s2vjVA4IrZ5Px1x2&t=433 (skip to 7:13 if it doesn't go there automatically, the beginning is just pointless fluff) However, based on the comments on the video, you need an original DS or DS Lite system or a modded 3DS that can play DS backups through the Twilight Menu++ homebrew (but at that point why not just use PkHex?) to do the trick.
