That may not faze some child-free millennials, who are using the money that would have been spent on childcare to splurge on lavish vacations, flashy boats, and other luxuries popular among DINKs Translation: RENT. Also in most normal countries, legislators pass laws to help pay for childcare and preschool, paid family leave, more vacations to spend time with your family, etc etc. Conservatives can't act surprised that they've killed the birth rate out of boomer spite.
