You can leave it all day and you'll still have a chocolate sludge at the bottom because the milk cools faster than the chocolate can melt. Supposing this is some sort of porous chocolate that avoids the issue, they may be worth trying.

The other alternative is to actually heat the milk with the chocolate in it, but this is much harder unless you're ok with it boiling, which honestly ruins it.
You can buy pre-shredded chocolate, or even mini chocolate chips.
