Merry Christmas!

There are some Christmas horrors out there but I am not sure I am going to spring for them or not. The ones released this year all look pretty darn bad, and considering I already saw the big named one they released in theaters (again, kinda underwhelming) we might just stick to watching something for free on Prime.

Last night we watched Sister Death. Another surprisingly good offering distributed by Netflix. They don't put out much, but when they have something it is seemingly all quality this year. This is a prequel to another film, which I have not watched, but it isn't necessary to have seen it. It's a bit like The Nun and The Conjuring; not totally necessary to have seen both to understand what's going on in the plot. Unlike The Nun, this particular movie gives main character status to our side character and makes them the protagonist of the story, which turns out to be a great idea. It takes a little while to figure out just what the plot of this film will boil down to, but once it does, I feel it tells a concise and tight story. The only thing I really didn't get was why the ghosts felt they needed to kill Rosa, if they were out for revenge against the school then why punish a character that's also being mistreated... anyway, there are a couple of really gnarly death scenes late in the movie (one is REALLY cool, in my opinion). I was fairly impressed by this one.
