Skinamarink New on List: The Cello, Nightmare, Play Dead, The Sacrifice Game Play Dead: This stars Jerry O'Connell as the main villain, which is something that I didn't think I'd really be able to see but he actually pulls it off quite well. When I hear his name along with a horror film, I can't help but think of Scream's most innocent and honest character. Anyway, the film has its flaws and I can admit that. It feels like it moves too fast sometimes, and you do have to suspend your disbelief quite a bit for the setup to the plot to even work but... I just found this to be such a fun movie to watch. It's a cat-and-mouse style horror and the main two characters just do such a good job at making this an enjoyable watch in my opinion. If you think about things too much I feel it's a detriment to the experience, so it's just one of those you have to roll with the punches on. The Sacrifice Game: This is Shudder's newest original film; it's a Christmas set demon-summoning style film with some twists. Chiefly, ~~the antagonists become the pursued eventually when they inadvertently fall into the hands of the demon they believe they're summoning.~~ I wish a few of the characters had been around a little longer, but mostly it's a pretty good offering. Seeing Aladdin ham it up as a super cheesy, delusional villain was pretty hilarious. The demon itself is rather affably evil to a degree; we know that it is a demon and apparently does take delight in evil things... yet it also seems to have a moral compass too.
