Ad blocking is a violation of terms of service, but TOS often contain unenforceable terms. In my mind, as long as I've got the bytes, they're mine. You can't write data to my device and then claim it's not mine. That's even ignoring the fact that I've actually already got those bytes (there's only 256 of them), and you are actually sending me a particular ordering of them. It's the same reason why claims that we were technically licensing music (not buying it) when we bought CDs were never taken seriously by anybody but entertainment lawyers. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
