Denouncing something that you have done isn't necessarily hypocritical, provided you recognize that it was harmful and have committed to not doing it anymore. There's also plenty of room for nuance in piracy: pirating a brand new game that isn't out yet because you don't want to pay for it but feel entitled to play it anyway is very different from pirating a 20-year-old game that isn't officially for sale anymore. Denouncing some piracy while being okay with other piracy isn't hypocritical, provided you've put some thought into the distinction and are able to explain and justify it. --- This is my signature.
