(This elimination really surprised me. Usually the Mega Man characters are among the first to be saved in rounds. I dont recall any recent rounds where Wily was saved particularly late.

Dr. Wily is Mega Mans and Dr. Lights arch nemesis. As an assist trophy in Ultimate, he rides in his signature vehicle, the Wily Capsule.

Also, unrelated, but this made me wonder what a Dr. Eggman assist trophy would be like. The two characters have some similarities, albeit mostly superficial ones.

With this, 12 characters are left. Thats as many as there were fighters in the first Smash game!

Here are some statistics:

• The list technically still goes from A to Z, as Alucard and Zero are both still in.
• Moon and Mother Brain are the only assists to share a letter.
• Sonic the Hedgehog is the only franchise to have more than one assist uneliminated. Both Knuckles and Shadow remain.
• The remaining characters are exactly split between first/second party (Dr. Kawashima, Isaac, Jeff, Lyn, Moon, Mother Brain) and third party (Alucard, Bomberman, Guile, Knuckles, Shadow, Zero) representation.
• Out of the 11 remaining series, three (Bomberman, Brain Age (Dr. Kawashima), and Golden Sun (Isaac)) dont have playable fighters.

Next round will be the last one requiring two saves per character. After that, itll switch to three saves.)
