An average adult novel is 70-120,000 words. 70,000 words in 40 hours (2400 minutes) is an average of 30 words per minute, which is perfectly possible if you know what you're typing, but becomes significantly harder when you have to make it up as you go, and completely impossible when you add in the editing process as well. This is why AI-generated art is going to doom the art industry: So many people (including a whole lot of industry executives) have completely uninformed and unrealistic expectations for how long art "should" take and how much it "should" cost, and start looking for shortcuts whenever those expectations aren't met by people who have the audacity to want to eat and live indoors while they work. AI offers that shortcut, and a sizable chunk of the consumer base doesn't understand why that's a problem. --- This is my signature.
