Edgar Reitz's Heimat (and its sequels) is one example of this - the Blu-ray is even in the original widescreen aspect ratio, though the work that aired on TV was in a standard TV framing - and I believe David Lynch was writing Twin Peaks: The Return as a single film and not a television series. --- Dude, calm down.
