I used to down at least a fifth of vodka every night ~4 months ago (went to rehab and currently clean as of now..), but my greatest fear was getting to the point that I would feel the need to drink during work or in the mornings. Or, working in tech and always being on-call, something going down and being too drunk to respond. I got lucky in that regard.

Nothing quite like going overboard the night before and showing up to work still drunk, in absolute agony sitting in meetings as the hangover kicks in while feeling like youre going to puke your guts up at any minute.

then you eventually get to the point where you're going through withdrawal on a daily basis while you're at work and you just want to die
