What if it was a game by a different developer entirely? Does it become more difficult to verify the item's legitimacy at each end? I'm not saying it's not POSSIBLE to do it. But NFTs do solve a lot of potential issues with it (and reduce work on dev/oversight end if done right). But the tech is way ahead of the actual use case in this instance. I'm just thinking like in a real world Ready Player One type environment (but where instead of one big evil mega corp running it several are) NFTs become necessary to ensure the item is legitimate. --- No problem!
