It isn't a stupid rule.

Your testimony is supposed to be an honest telling of the situation in your own words. You shouldn't be allowed to talk to your attorneys during it ABOUT the testimony because it muddies the testimony and alters how they present it.

Clearly, it's significantly altered her testimony today, so that's why the rule is there.
