| Topic | Are any of you actually slower at the grocery store when you go through the self |
| Dikitain 05/14/22 1:20:32 PM #26: | I think some self check-outs are designed such that it intentionally makes you slower. Like the ones at BJs are perfect, literally just scan the barcode on everything and you are good. Then you have my local supermarket where they intentionally make you place something in the bag before you can scan something else, and they don't let you swipe faster then one item every 3-5 seconds, whereas the cashiers can swipe 2-3 things per second with no restrictions. That said, the less human interaction I have when I am out the better, so I would rather use self check-out no matter how slow it is. Although I treat it like an express lane, and I won't use it if I have more then 8-10 items. --- After 16 years, I have decided my signature will NOT be about my job!
