I maintain that Elaine is the only bad lawyer in this right now. She is just awful and makes everything so bad.

Rottenborn would be a great lawyer if facts were even close to being on his side. Unfortunately, they aren't. So he's left with stupid questions.

The other guy who objected to his own question has been fine in other cross exams, but that one was just rough for him and got worse because he had to ask about Johnny Depp's penis and probably just dreaded the whole thing.

Depp's team is all varying degrees of good. It seems like they figured out how to get objections ruled in their favor now and that was my main complaint.

Keep in mind that Amber's lawyers are also beholden to their client. If she wants to add in bullshit about Johnny pissing on the walls then they need to ask about his penis. If she wants them to ask other humiliating or dumb questions, they have to.

But Amber is just especially bad because Elaine just can't reign her in at all. She goes on and on to tell a great big story and after she's done Elaine has to go "Let me ask you this leading question about something important you forgot to say." And she can't stop her from constantly trying to put words into people's mouths either.

Elaine is struggling here because she's trying to get stuff admitted that shouldn't be, and she really has no good arguments for why they should be admitted, or why she should be allowed to ask certain questions. But this stuff is important to try getting in to help Amber's insane stories and her case. She COULD be doing a bit better here, but she's in a hard spot. The rest of the trial has been inexcusable though for her imo.
