I personally think people should be responsible enough not to need abortions and now that the tech exists to prevent accidental pregnancies (and reverse the procedure later if needed), it's crazy that it isn't used/available for everyone free of charge after puberty.

I would not have an abortion personally if I got pregnant due to voluntarily having sex and not using appropriate birth control. I think at that point the life is your responsibility and you need to at least ensure it finds a good family to care for it, if you are not able to, or do not want to. Many would be happy to adopt a baby, so it could have a good life.

I am a bit more torn in the case of rape etc, but again in most cases you can take a pill afterwards to ensure you don't get pregnant. Also if you have had surgery etc for long term birth control, you can't get accidently impregnated even if you are raped (which hopefully won't happen anyway).

So honestly I'm a bit torn on the issue, but I don't like to put my beliefs on others, so I lean towards having abortions be legal. I personally would like any such abortions to include a procedure to avoid any future accidental pregnancies, that just needs to be reversed if the person wants to have kids in the future.

While we don't have free health care, some things should be paid for to protect the interests of people who don't exist yet, and save resources over all, therefore I think the surgeries to prevent pregnancy and any abortions (that include that surgery) should all be free and covered by the gov/tax payers. Less people being born without a family that can provide them with a good life, and sometimes with parents that resent them etc, the better.

I don't think abortion should be taken off the table but I do feel that no doctor should ever be forced to perform them (which they are not really right now, but if you go into that field it may be required of you). I think the solution is to make abortions not needed almost ever (unless the mothers life is in danger etc). Another method is to streamline the adoption process and take out all the rediculous additional costs so that the mother of a child that puts a baby up for adoption gets a significant amount of money, making it MUCH less likely that an abortion would happen, and providing many children with loving families.

There is no easy solution, but I do think stronger birth control access is something we should have universally on this planet and certainly in the US. We have enough people, lets ensure any future people have a loving family that will support them and give them the best life possible. I consider it far worse to have a child and not love it and provide for it's future, than to abort a child.

Suffering in my mind is far worse than death, and if you bring a child into this world and abandon it, you are almost certainly causing it alot of suffering.
