If this was true, how did Depp lose?
I pretty clearly explained this in the first post.

He sued The Sun in the UK who claimed he was a wife beater, and they have a weird law in which they ruled that since The Sun was working with the known information at the time, and thus awarded the case to The Sun. It didn't matter the merit of truth that came out after it, they judged it based on the truth of what was known prior to the article being written.

He can still lose the current case as well. Defamation suits are hard to win.
I mentioned that in the first post, yeah. On a technicality reading of the law, I could go either way on it.

The thing is, this is a jury trial and juries are lizard brained people who don't always go by the laws. If they think Johnny is telling the truth and Amber Heard is a psychotic liar, they may award it to Johnny based on that, or they could go strictly by the law and think about favoring Amber Heard's side.

It's a total crapshoot honestly. I think what's most important is that he's getting it all out in the open now to try clearing his name, regardless of a win or loss.
