Whoof. Today was a wretched day with cross-examination. I can discuss that later.

DAY 3

This is worth mentioning because I didn't mention it: style choices for Depp and Heard! Johnny Depp these first few days had his hair down and looked more disheveled, but otherwise had on nice suits. Amber Heard on the other hand was dressed like she was a damn marine, in these dress suits with her hair back. This isn't to say she looked bad, but if you're at court presenting yourself as a victim of abuse, you should probably look less like a drill instructor. Very bizarre and Hollywood choices for them.

The first witness on this day was Katherine James, who was Amber Heard's personal assistant for years. This is another video deposition so let me explain in more detail how this works.

The last one was just a presentation of video, so nothing important was there in regards to testimony. This one, and a few more following, are all curated videos where both parties are there, and they edit out objections and figure out between themselves how to go about it. So it seems a little disjointed at times. These are pretty boring as a result.

So to put it simply, Katherine hates Amber Heard and was not shy about it, but not in any way that made her seem less credible. She testified that she was often verbally abused by Amber Heard, and was grossly underpaid for a personal assistant job in Hollywood. She had many examples of the abuse that Amber gave her. I felt bad for her because damn, it was brutal. She wanted only a part time gig and Amber more or less strong armed her into a full time position under the qualification she could pick up her child from school which was something unique she was afforded. However, when she asked Amber for a raise, Amber went full on meltdown on her and just dressed her down and spit in her face.

Katherine described Amber treating her sister like an abused puppy she would kick as well. She said Amber's mother told her that she was terrified of Amber (which I have no idea how they let that through). She also established Amber was as much of, if not more, of an abuser of alcohol and drugs as Johnny. She said Johnny was a complete sweetheart though with multiple examples.

She was asked if she ever saw marks or bruises on Amber and she said no, never. She never heard anything, saw anything related to fights or domestic violence, and that she was around Amber constantly.

She also was not thrilled with Amber's lawyer and was rather snippy with him, especially since he tried to keep impugning her character by accusing her of being in horrible debt among other things. Katherine just seemed like she didn't want to be there at all.

Katherine was another witness the day that Johnny had supposedly hit her the last time they met, she went there that night because Amber texted her in a panic and she said that the place looked fine and that Amber didn't have a mark on her the day before she got the restraining order.

The next witness was Amber and Johnny's psychiatrist on video. Imagine what a Hollywood psychiatrist who is treating a bunch of out of touch celebrities is like and you'll have her pegged. She was a sloppy mess of a psychiatrist and she had sessions with Amber & Johnny together, and separately. To put it in perspective, she would scribble down notes so bad she couldn't read them, would mix up Johnny and Amber constantly in them, and would never question or dig deeper into anything they would say. You could tell she's just horrible.

The main things from this was that Amber in all the pair sessions would constantly talk over Johnny and insult him when he tried to speak, so he just was mostly reserved in the sessions as a result, but remarked that Johnny talked a lot whenever he was in his solo sessions. She mentioned that the only time Amber talked about supposedly being abused, and came in with marks on her, were in sessions where Johnny wasn't there. This woman literally never talked to Johnny about the supposed physical abuse. Absolute madness.

They concluded mentioning Johnny brought up that "Amber gave it back harder than she would get it" and the psychiatrist never followed up on what that meant be it physical or verbal. Later testimony would have Johnny saying disparaging things about this psychiatrist. Basically, they just got in a bunch of testimony about how Amber was often overbearing to Johnny and threw stuff at Johnny. Her notes were mostly awful.

The next witness was a live one, Sheila Deuters who was a friend of Johnny Depp's. She was a nice woman for the most part and politely discussed partying with Johnny and doing drugs and drinking with him. She said Johnny never got loud or violent on substances though. She was a little ditzy. Just a bit.

She also testified about Arnica Cream, which Amber Heard's team claims is a magical substance that heals any bruises or marks instantly. She said it was absolutely not that, and it's just a clear cream. She also testified Amber Heard being far more wild doing drugs and drinking alcohol than Johnny.

It was around that time that the stuff I described in post #10 happened. Basically, they presented an Instagram post from her from January as from during the trial and then Sheila admitted to seeing clips from the trial and was rightfully thrown out as a witness and the jury asked to ignore all of her testimony.

Dr. Kippur was next up in a video testimony, and he was the doctor for Johnny and Amber. You could put this man through torture and he would refuse to admit anything about his clients. Imagine a doctor specifically prescribing drugs to people while living on an island in the Bahamas with his clients. Guess how above the board he is. That is Dr. Kippur!

He claimed Amber never once said that she was hurt from the various supposed brutal beatings Johnny had given her. Not once did she ever report injuries. He never saw any bruises or marks on her either. He never saw any violence and said he'd be obligated to report them if he did. He said he had no reason to believe Johnny ever lost control either due to his drug and alcohol issues.

Johnny texts his doctor like a total weirdo texting his close friend. His texts are wild, but will make sense later. He gave Johnny so many god damn drugs which is partially why he became addicted to them. It was crazy how easily this guy gave him drugs.

He testified Johnny told him that he accidentally cut off the tip of his finger and didn't question any of it but gave him care. Johnny texted him "I cut off my finger on my right hand to remind me not to cut off the finger on my left one!" Dude's texts are wild.

This testimony ended up continuing into next week... but not that Friday! Fridays are reserved for motions the legal teams want to present. The major one on that Friday was the stuff about Eve Barlow I detailed in post #10.
