I really don't feel like they need to actually ban out self-burn. Between N/R decks being significantly easier to build than viable XYZ-Only decks and the Win = 10 Losses balance they had in the latter part of that event (As opposed to the Win = 2 Losses they started on, especially), I wouldn't expect to see a huge number of those even if they didn't touch it.

ETA: Checking the full announcement myself, it looks like they intend to ban out burn strategies in general in addition to self-burn, as well as "Other cards that may affect the balance of the event" which is exceptionally silly - A modified version of my ideal Nurse Burn list was on the shortlist of decks I was considering. On the other hand, they did get rid of the idiotic "Loaner decks only give half rewards" thing.
