So I played 50 minutes (which was only a bunch of story exposition and 1 battle) and I wasn't hooked yet.
The combat depth and customization of FFT doesn't seem to be present, and there wasn't any kind of immediate plot hook in that play session. There's this seemingly big build up after the optional scene after the first battle, that may be alluding to a Game of Thrones-esque death scene, but I'm not sure if the game will move in that direction (I honestly doubt it).

Seems like it is trying to copy FFT, but doesn't really understand why FFT is so good.
Also a note on deaths, I had two of the units die in the first battle (because I didn't care to position them) and there's no punishment for death? Very weird.
why would there be punishment for that

it was started with fire emblem, but even fire emblem stopped because it's stupid and pointlessly frustrating.
