The House

New stop-motion anthology dark comedy / kinda horror film about three distinct generations of people living in the same house in different time periods, battling their inner demons in the process. It's early yet but I can already see this being my favorite film of the year. It is brilliantly creative and intensely weird, and tragically funny, it at times feels like the worst fever dream you ever had, and the whole time I had this pit in my stomach because each main character is relatable with goals and dreams and watching them spiral out into horrific despair makes you want to reach out and help them. There is light though, because despite the individual tragedies on display the last story ends on a rather sweet and wholesome message which makes the journey so worth it. I highly recommend this film for any fans of stop-motion animation or weird, horror-adjacent stuff that captures highly human feelings.

I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.
