I understand that the anime went in a completely different direction, and didn't even turn the MC into a ghoul which iirc was how he beat the kitsune... although I guess by the end of the series he becomes a vampire either way? idk, I want to get back to the manga someday, and maybe I'll check out the anime.

idk, there are a lot of series I never finished. And, in general, the start/stop nature of a lot of less-popular anime kinda kills me, particularly when the manga is too tough to get through. For instance, I loved Ghost Hunt but it's a shoujo and iirc something about the format either bugged me or made it hard to read.
