Mushoku Tensei was early enough in modern isekai (approximately around the time of SAO's boom) to be the formula. It doesn't do anything unique, but it also doesn't necessarily rely on gimmicks like a lot of other isekai do. I still prefer well-done gimmicky shit way more tho. Stuff like Yasei no Last Boss Arawareta, Tearmoon Empire (well, if you consider the mc being an absolute moron with ex+ luck to be a gimmick), all them manhwa that involve a little girl trying to be as cute as possible so her dad/brothers don't murder her, Protecting the Heroine's Older Brother, that virus isekai, I Shall Survive Using Potions, and all the interesting cultivation/isekai/gaming hybrids that are often seen in manhua (the most interesting of which was I'm An Evil God which wins the award for the most utterly meaningless title in the context of the story). --- https://imgur.com/LabbRyN raytan and Kana are on opposite ends of the Awesome Spectrum. <cite>agesboy posted [p:959356715] in Anime, Man...
