There's a reason other fighting games don't mind zoning as much. Actually, people hate zoners in other fighters a lot too. You should see the hate I get for playing Saki, Morrigan, and Hilda in TvC, UMvC3, and BBTAG respectfully. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that people also tend to hate zoners in Smash because bigass disjointed hitboxes can be difficult to deal with in a game like that.
