As for D2R, I was excited until I saw they didn't take the opportunity to improve the areas where its age is showing really badly. Instead it's literally just D2 with a shiny coat of paint. I guess that might be a fun nostalgia trip, but not worth the price they're asking. I think this will end up being a badly missed oppurtunity. It probably only exists to drum up hype for D4.

Basically it's crazy they didn't take things from project diablo 2 etc and incorporate it. Just the fact that many people won't give those changes up, especially just for a graphics update, is going to mean alot less people playing it.

Many years of updates and changes have already been done to the game, so the background work is all there, what they should have done is bought out Project Diablo 2 all together, made some more changes/upgraded the graphics a bit more, and released THAT (charging people for it now).

The original game is still fun, but they also have some rediculous things that are holding it back. You have to pay for Playstation plus or whatever it is to play online (so $10 a month), which is rediculous for instance. The controllers work halfway ok for some classes on consoles but it's auto-aim and doesn't let you choose targets etc (so mouse/keyboard is still way better but not available on consoles). The game ran like crap on many fairly new systems/gaming rigs in the beta as well.

Not sure how well it will sell, but guess we will find out soon.
