Analogies do not require the numbers to be the same. Only the logic. Of course, your numbers are innately flawed because serious car accidents are vastly rarer than covid infections. The US sees ~6 million accidents of any severity per year (of which only a relatively small fraction are serious enough for not wearing a seatbelt to cause death). Meanwhile, they've seen 36.7 million covid cases in 17 months (~25 million per year, if we average that). If you're going to compare statistics, you need to ensure they're actually comparable before doing so. --- This is my signature.
