| Snake5555555555 08/13/21 10:28:53 PM #227: | Damn, Bone Tomahawk is the one movie that makes me wish I was able to finish my write-ups for this project, even if I wouldn't have made that much of a difference. Loved reading these reactions though! Even the most hardcore of horror fans can get turned off by the scalping and bisection so I can't imagine not even being into the genre in the first place. The atmosphere is spectacular, I love how you can feel every agonizing second of the journey, you get to know all of these characters' flaws and insecurities, and how it baits you with false antagonists, before it absolutely explodes into the viscerally intense horror which goes way beyond simple death scenes with something much more indescribably grotesque, a twisted reflection of humanity's darkest urges in the era it's portrayed and beyond. --- I've decided to put my fears behind me.
