We are seeing in the new variants that the virus is starting to shed the spike proteins that the vaccines target; this is in part to the virus spreading largely undetected and ultimately unchecked amongst the population who have received their shots.

This post demonstrates scientific illiteracy. First, to suggest the virus is spreading unchecked within the vaccinated population is the opposite of true.

Second, the virus does not "shed the spike protein." The spike protein is a necessary component of the virus to bind to human ACE2 receptors and for endocytic cell entry.

Shedding has recently been used to describe a crackpot theory, which you couldn't even state correctly, where the spike proteins produced by human cells (using mRNA from the vaccine) are "shed" and cause negative health outcomes. Which, again, has never been demonstrated.

It's like you just threw together a series of words that sound vaguely scientific to sound credible, but what you said is nonsense.
