Topic	the lotr movies aren't good

Mainly because they didn't include this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXQJS3Yv0Y Put that scene in Return of the King and it would be the greatest movie ever made. It would have won ALL the Oscars. Metalsonic66 posted... Ahh, Celeborn. Poor bastard doesn't even get his own Wikipedia entry (it defaults to Galadriel's page). Tolkien describes him as one of the most wise and powerful elves left in Middle Earth in the Third Age. You'd think he'd be important. But his wife outshines him so much in narrative purpose that he barely exists. Tolkien does have a tendency to really talk up the Noldor while minimizing all the others, though. And Galadriel gets bonus points for being one of the Noldor who came from Valinor (Elrond wasn't born until thousands of years later in Beleriand).
