Makes you wonder if the George Floyd incident was actually racist, or if that's just how the world saw it during a particularly stressful year. Maybe that is something that we'll never know, except we seem sure that we do. Either way, the circumstances were enough to change the flow of history.

*insert Flintstones theme here

The kinda kicker to the George Floyd case is that the same thing almost certainly would have happened to a white man in that situation, but nothing would have happened to the cop and you wouldn't have seen any protests over it. You certainly wouldn't see cities building statues if a white man was killed by Derek Chauvin. Keep in mind that we've seen multiple incidents of unarmed white youths being killed by cops where, even when the cop shoots an unarmed white 20 y/o male in the back who's wearing headphones -- and the whole thing is on bodycam -- the cops were exonerated of all wrongdoing, claiming, "Well, there's stuff you can't see on the bodycam! He knew he was disobeying orders by walking away!" If that same video of a white youth getting shot in the back, then wrestled to the ground, handcuffed, and left to bleed to death on the sidewalk involved a black youth, that city would have torn to pieces.
