However, the 8-hour sleep cycle is largely bullshit, particularly since sleep cycles are around 90-minutes in length so you'd likely be waking up in the *middle* of a sleep cycle if you went for 8. Otherwise it's just another part of magical thinking around the Rule of 8 (8 glasses of water a day, 8 hours of sleep, etc).
