I wouldn't say that.

I think there's a very real issue with boomers/older people not realizing the extent of both the cost of living/inflation rises from "back in the day" as well as how little wealth the younger generations possess relative to what they had at the same point in their lives.

The extreme, bordering on dark comedy, example is of course when Trump said that young people just graduating from college pay "$12 a year for [health] insurance" and on other occasions said "$15 a month" both of which are just lmfaooooooooooooo.

It may not be fair to think the level of delusion is that strong in a lot of older people, but I definitely get the impression a lot of them just don't realize how much things have changed since the 50s-60s and unfortunately these people hold much of the power so they set policy with those beliefs.

Edit: And of course, being rich on top of that so you never really had to seriously grapple with those issues adds another layer of out-of-touch to it.
