In my opinion:

Take some time for yourself. Don't get caught up in a spiral of self-loathing and shame over what happened, but if you do, try and hash out why you're feeling bad so you can come to terms with it.

If you're having trouble identifying the exact thing that's making you upset, imagine you're describing the situation to somebody else. You might intuitively be able to put it into words that way. Identifying the cause can help you understand how to fix it.

Put your own feelings first, because if you try to feel better while putting other people's feelings ahead of yours, you're gonna have a really bad time. ESPECIALLY if you're trying to be the bigger person and put her feelings first - YOU need to heal right now. Make time for YOU. Don't worry about feeling selfish unless you're in a place where you're doing alright - then you can worry about being selfish. Until then, take the time you need to get back on your feet.

And it's not easy - it's a process. Much easier said than done. Rome wasn't built in a day, and that's okay. Seeking support from others is a good first step.

Apologies if your situation isn't that serious, but I wanted to dump some stuff in case it is. I recently spent a week losing my mind over something shitty, and I think this is the process that helped me come out the other side.

One thing about the good guys that I've noticed: they always beg for mercy in the end.
