Prior to covid, you had the hippie types coming from the left, but also the individualistic folks on the right insisting that they don't want to weaken their immune system with the vaccine (science not exactly being their strong suit) and don't care about contributing to herd immunity, plus a smattering of religious objections. The distrust of Big Pharma was a factor on both sides.
