I added to the above, but I guess one of my points you seemed to have stumbled on organically because you went with "self-help guru" rather than saying "self-help author". Regardless, because of who is writing the character, the idea isn't creative or original, it's just an extension of his existing political propaganda. Because you bring up Ayn Rand up, I'll use her as an example -- It would be like if Rand had been asked to write Captain America and she turned the Red Skull into a pro-government, anti-capitalist. Yes, it's a different direction for the character and you could argue that the premise could be seen as topically relevant, but really it's just giving her a platform to espouse her ideologies, which is pretty much what's happened here.
