I don't know the writer,

He's a SJW who got mostly got famous for being a SJW. Because Marvel was trying to attract the SJW crowd -- which broadly won't read comics anyway -- they hired him to write for Black Panther (I don't know what his credentials, if any, were like at that point, although I'm reasonably sure he hadn't written any fiction at that point). I'm not sure how well his BP run was, although I think the first issue sold well on his name alone (as one would expect).

but this take on Red Skull is very interesting; His tactics are to influence the young impressionable men with a lack of self-identity... the kind of people who he'd be Nazi/Hydra youthing back in the day. So... why not look towards authors and influencers who also target young impressionable men with a lack of self-identity....... self-help authors.

It's not "interesting," it's literal propaganda. He was making those claims prior to writing those comics and just found another way to vilify the people he was already vilifying. And while once upon a time you might have been able to argue that it was "interesting" that Marvel was attacking its audience, they've been doing that for decades now, whether it's mocking fans (like Joe Quesada's remark that fans couldn't relate to the idea of being married, and their reality was more in line with a relative walking in on them while hypnoxing) or engaging in more overt criticisms like that. And then Marvel wonders why their comics have been selling less and less over the years. (Although, broadly speaking, one could reasonably argue that the comics side of thing exists mostly to test out ideas for the more profitable side of the business -- movies, tv shows, and merch.)

And if that's the case, Coates would be a great place to start with those criticisms, considering he's a propagandist who tries to sway youngsters while lining his own pockets. Actually, given his role right now, he's a great case-in-point.

Well... no, kinda. I wouldn't say "self-help authors" since the real predators sometimes don't even have a book. They sell online courses, seminars, and personalized coaching, all of which helps them make a lot more money than they ever could by selling a book. Even if you overcharge on a book, you're only looking at maybe $50 or $100. A lot of their courses are in the thousands of dollars.
