Rewatched The Running Man and Total Recall for the first time in a long time today while I was drawing maps for D&D (another thing that might be making its comeback after the pandemic). Seeing those as a 40-year-old man gives me a different perspective, especially Total Recall.

I haven't seen the Running Man in maybe 10 years, but it held up as the goofy mess I remembered. Total Recall I haven't seen in longer, but it's one of those movies that I don't feel as compelled to rewatch.

Speaking of, Total Recall got a remake (which I still haven't seen), but The Running Man still hasn't had one. I'm wondering if it was remade whether it would take its cues from the movie or the book, considering that the two are wildly different. The book is more dated than the film, although they could update it from game show culture to more of a reality tv angle.

And on the subject of remakes, I'm still pissed that NF hasn't done a new Masters of the Universe, especially considering its She-Ra run.
