Cause if it's just assumption, I would posit that it's not always a parent's fault if their kid turns out crappy. Eventually those kids become adults and have the freedom to make their own choices.

This son and another have spent time in prison. That other son later died of drug overdose. Sure it could be just unlucky, but it's unusual for multiple kids from a stable family to have these kinds of problems in adulthood.
