You're complaining about them disliking popular stuff while also acknowledging that being popular often doesn't mean something is any good. There are absolutely pretentious hipster types that hump the leg of their favourite craft brewery because that's the closest thing to a personal identity they have, but the fact of the matter is that the scale and processes involved in macrobrewing generally produce inferior products to what you can get from microbrewing. By and large, macrobrews are more popular not because they're better (or even good), but because they've got brand recognition driving sales. There are some decent ones out there, and there are certainly plenty of terrible microbrews, but anyone who wants to enjoy some good beer should generally be looking to their local craft scene, not trying to find a great macrobrew. That's not hipstering, that's just the reality of the matter.
