So the Gundam, Guncannon, and Guntank are all in the same battle now yeah going by the UC timeline, we're still very early in the development lifecycle of mobile suits in general. the fact that the gundam is so advanced is even more impressive when you really compare it to the other models that were still in development at the time. Gundam: The Origin takes place before this and there are parts in that series where like... the mecha are basically just tanks with stuff mounted on top of them, not even called mobile suits yet. and then later they are testing actual mobile suits and trying to get them working without a huge power cable needing to be attached to it the entire time. The Origin is really great btw it has the unique quality of being more enjoyable if you've seen the Original gundam, but also making the original Gundam more enjoyable to watch. they really feed off of each other and make you want to go back and rewatch the other one. --- all the rest weren't so unfortunate https://imgur.com/yv2eC4n ...
