A GSW to the chest still seems a weird suicide.

He was arrested as being part of a group with Eric Munchel who stormed the capitol and attempted to enter property against police advice and stayed passed curfew. He was arrested and faced 180 days in jail and a fine

Not for nothing, but spending up to 180 days in jail and a fine isn't really losing everything. By contrast, a suicide loses everything, including the chance to see his kids grow up. Honestly, it's a shame that the cops didn't grab him faster since it might have prevented his death.

The media have jumped to conclusions and been proven wrong so many times. How does anyone still take them seriously at this point?

More of a "why" than a "how." However, he apparently did the thing he was accused of doing so....

Nope, he's going to be remembered as one of a relatively small group of people who were SO FUCKING STUPID that he was manipulated into willingly turning traitor to America,

No, he's not. Within a few months, literally the only people who will remember his name are going to be those who knew him. His life has as much meaning on yours and yours does on his. If he was the only person to charge the capitol that day, he might have been remembered for doing so, but nobody is likely to remember this guy when you have a wannabe shaman there and a guy who lost his elected office before he got into it... and, honestly, the only person anybody will remember in the long run is that shaman because that get-up was something else. However, I mentioned his name to you or anybody on street (who didn't know him personally) just a month from now, the reaction is going to be: "Who?"

And even the group won't be remembered all that long. Nobody is going to be talking about them fifteen or twenty years from now because they didn't do any lasting damage. Keep in mind people barely remember Sirhan Sirhan and he killed a prominent sitting senator *and* has a cool name. Hell, you probably had to look that name up just to know who he was. They broke in the capitol and, unlike attacks at state houses, a lot of them are pretty rightfully going to prison for it. A few of the ringleaders and more serious guys (like the one who killed the cop) are in the shit now. However, this is just one tiny incident in the long arc of history.
